"One Hand Fraaands"

I've been sitting here for 30 minutes staring at my computer screen... There are a ton of things that I could talk about but my heart just isn't in the mood to write about them. I'm currently lounged in my massive, oversized leopard chair with a box of tissues at my side. My nose is completely stuffy, but also running like crazy (how does that even happen??) and I've been coughing up my lungs all day-- BUT I refuse to let that stop me from keeping up with this blog!

I've been thinking a lot about friendship. What is a friend? As dumb as this sounds, I went to the actual dictionary and Urban Dictionary (just for fun) to see what the definition(s) were. (Ha! Don't judge me!) In case you were wondering what they said:

[Friend]: A person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.

Urban Dictionary:
[Friend]: People who are aware how retarded you are and still manage to be seen in public with you. People who make you laugh till you pee your pants. People who cry for you. When you don't have enough money to get ice cream, they chip in. They know all of your internet passwords and they would never make you cry to just be mean.

I've always heard that "when all is said and done, if you can count all your true friends on one hand, you're a lucky (wo)man". Now, I'm lucky enough to have many good friends in my life that I love dearly. However; today, I want to focus on my "one hand" best friends. I am the type of person who has never really had a "best" friend in life. I am selfish at times and tend to push people away before I get close to them or before they can get close to me. If someone ever finds their way to that part of my life, I know they are there for a reason. Does this mean every relationship is perfect? Of course not. Does this mean that you will never argue? Ha! You'll probably wind up arguing more if we're being honest. Sometimes, you may even have to take a short "break" from these people but you never stop loving them... Ever! (It only makes you stronger!)

I guess the point I'm trying to make with this post is to cherish your friends. Forgive them. (Even when they don't deserve it..) Love unconditionally and never take them for granted.

Anyways, I hope you all are having a fantastic Tuesday! And here's to me feeling better sooooon! Can I get an amen!? :)

Love always,

"Best friends: If you find someone who makes you smile, who checks up on you often to see if you're  okay, who watches out for you and wants the very best for you, don't let them go. Keep them close and don't take them for granted. People like that are hard to find."
