La da da da dee

Hello lovelies!

I wanted to hop on here and put up a quick blog post since it's been a few days! :)

This past weekend was super relaxing and I definitely needed it. Not only did I binge watch the heck out of 'The Office', but I also got to see my sister and brother-n-law. They came to town for Memorial Day and I was so glad I got to hang out with them.

I honestly don't have much to say in this post... I've really been trying to stay off my computer and phone as much as possible the last week or so. Things are good-- no reason in particular I haven't been very social, I just get this way sometimes. Ha! I'm really grateful for the people in my life and things seem to be falling in to place.

It's kind of crazy, one day you can wake up and realize your life is so much different than it was 2 months ago. And that's okay! It's always been really hard for me to let things/people go... However, I'm learning that sometimes it's for the best. I truly do have a great life! I have a wonderful husband & family (even though we may not always agree on everything), I have amazing friends that have stuck by my side through thick and thin and have helped me more than they will ever know (seriously, I wouldn't be able to get through my days at work without a few of them... They are always there to give me advice when I need it, they listen when all I want to do is vent or when I just want to talk their ear off about random things--like I tend to do often! Heh.) and most importantly, I'm learning to trust and lean on God again. I think I've ran as far away as I could in the past because I've always felt so much pressure to be this perfect saint. But I'm not-- no one is. Thank goodness He doesn't expect perfection! ;) We're all on our own little journey and I wouldn't change a thing!

Anyways, I guess I'll end it there! I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Love always,

"I hope that you become filled with so much happiness that it heals every part of you."

(Tori Kelly is one of my favorite artists... and this song just makes me happy! <3)

(And one more just because I came across her doing this cover and I kind of fell in love. I literally can't listen to this song anymore when I hear it because it was SO overplayed on the radio. However, she killed it! Dang! Ha!)

Where Have I Been?

Hello lovelies!

Where have I been!? I think this is the longest I've ever gone without posting something on my blog since I started it! Yikes! (Not going to let that happen again, promise!) This week...The past two weeks have been complete MADNESS... I'm not even kidding. Work has been so crazy busy, I can't seem to keep up! I honestly think the main reason I haven't posted lately is because I stare at a computer all. day. long. at work and staring at one when I get home is usually the last thing I want to do. Ha! However, blogging does help me relax and de-stress a bit so I'm going to hop right in to this recap! :)

First off, I am absolutely loving the book series I'm reading! It's oh so good! I'm already on the second book-- finished the first one in less than a week! Who am I? Ha!
(This is the one I'm currently reading...)

I also caved y'all... I finally bought Beyonce's "Lemonade" album. Sigh. I thought if I waited it out long enough, it would either become cheaper on iTunes or it would finally be available on Apple Music. Buuut I was wrong! Heh. Either way-- I've been listening to the album all day and it's so good! I've tried not to be a Beyonce fan, but the girl can just flat out sang. #guiltypleasure

Speaking of music... I'm so excited! Not only do I get to see Brother's Osborne this Friday night but I also just bought tickets to see Maren Morris in October! If you've read my blog at all in the past few months, you know how obsessed I am with her album. *happy dance* <3

Moving on... ;)

This past weekend was a busy one for sure! My nephew graduated high school Friday night so we attended his graduation in Greenwood. After graduation was over, we went and grabbed a bite to eat at Beef O Brady's. It was delish!

Saturday morning, we woke up and decided to cruise around with the top down for a bit and then went grocery shopping before we headed to our nephew's graduation party later that day...
(Am I the only one that likes to see what other people eat? Haha! I always tend to get really good ideas. I've been thinking about doing a blog post totally dedicated to healthy finds I've been loving from the grocery store. Would that be weird? Let me know in the comments below if that would be interesting to you!)

After the graduation party, we came home and watched a few episodes of 'The Office' and headed to bed. Sunday morning we went to church and meal prepped for the week ahead. I'm really trying to focus on getting my diet and exercise back in control. Making progress!

Besides work being super busy, yesterday was pretty exciting for a Monday! My brother and sister-n-law had their baby so I am now an aunt to another kiddo. We spent most of the night at the hospital visiting with family!
(Colton Wayne Smith!)

As far as today goes, work was once again crazy busy... (I feel like I'm going to be saying that a lot this summer! Ha!) After work, I came home and made a quick salad before heading to the gym:
(This has been my favorite combo lately... Spinach, strawberries, feta and raspberry vinaigrette!)

I worked legs tonight at the gym and OH. MY. GOODNESS. My legs feel like jello! I did bar squats for the first time in months and I am definitely going to be feeling it tomorrow!
You gotta take that gym selfie to prove you were there! ;)

Anyways, I think that's going to be all for now. I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! Tomorrow is Wednesday which means we are half way to the weekend! *high five*

Love always,

"Quit saying you don't have time. You have time for what you make time for in life."

(Ah! Finally some new music from Chris Young! I am loving his new single... So good!)

(Ok, so I'm going to be honest about this song. This came on my Pandora station about a month ago... Really liked the song but totally didn't give it another chance when I looked the guy up who sings it! Haha! He looked like a thug and his voice did NOT match him or the country sound at all. However, I gave in when I heard this song again last week... and I'll give credit where it's due. I really enjoy listening to it! Give it a try! P.S. The link posted above is the actual music video for the song... Click on it! Blogger would only let me post the lyric video on my blog! *eye roll*)

Weekend Recap: Mother's Day, Family Time, Book Review, Coffee + MORE

Hello lovelies!

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you all had a great weekend... I can't believe it's already come and gone. I figured I would go ahead and write a quick recap of my weekend as I prepare to start for another week ahead! :)

Friday night we met up with Tyler's family at Whole Hog to celebrate his dads birthday. After we ate, we went to my brother and sister-n-laws house for cake and brownies. We visited for a while and then cruised around downtown for a bit. (With the top down of course! Heh.)

Saturday morning I woke up around 9AM and decided to relax for a bit and finish up my book I've been reading. (Love & Gelato) It was so good! I can definitely say it was a "Charity book"... It was all about love, based in Italy and had a happy ending! I would highly recommend! NOW, I am starting a new series of books called the "Summer Harbor" series:
("Falling Like Snowflakes" is the first book in the series!)

After I finished my book and Tyler got home from the gym, we decided to go in to town and get some lunch. We wound up at the Gyro restaurant: <3

After we ate, we headed downtown to check out the new coffee place I mentioned in my last post. We tried going on Friday night but it was completely packed and there was no where to park! I was super excited to give it a try... and it didn't disappoint! The coffee was really good and I loved the environment. I think this is going to be my new favorite hang out spot! (They had really good music playing too, might I add!)
(Isn't it absolutely darling? <3)

I finally got my latte art and I was so extremely happy... Ha!

After coffee, we ran a few errands and then spent the rest of the evening at home. We watched a few episodes of "The Office"... (which I'm still loving by the way) before heading to bed. Side note about the show: PAM AND JIM JUST NEED TO GET TOGETHER ALREADY! It's driving me crazy! Haha!

Anyways, that brings us to today! It's Mother's Day and not only did I get to spend the day with her, but my sister and brother-n-law were also in town as well. <3 We all got to go to church together and then ate at "Franks Italian" for lunch! (Happy Mother's Day mum! Love you very much!)
(Does anyone think we all look alike?)

After lunch-- me, my mom and my sister went BACK to my coffee spot again and enjoyed some coffee together! (Can you tell I love this place? Whoops. Ha!)

Now, it is time to MEAL PREP and get ready for the week ahead. This week is going to be extremely busy-- we have two graduations to attend AND I have to find time to get all of my workouts in. It's ok though, I GOT THIS. ;)

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Love always,

"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength."

I Love Coffee Too Much?

Hello lovelies!

First off, let me share this super adorable coffee mug that my husband surprised me with last night...(He said it reminded him of my blog because I say "hello lovelies" in every post and he figured this would be the closest he could ever get to those words being on a coffee mug! Ha!)

Moving on... ;)

How is everyone doing on this fantastic Thursday? I am sitting here in my leopard chair, snuggled up under my blanket and it is POURING outside! I swear-- Arkansas has some of the weirdest weather... but I feel like I should be used to it by now!

Yesterday was a super stressful day at work. We were SO BUSY... I'm not complaining-- I know it's a good thing but geeeez. So. Much. To. Do. I've also been having some major issues with my personal email accounts, pictures... well, pretty much my entire phone-- so my amazing friend at work has been helping me get it all figured out! (I'm seriously the most technologically challenged person on the face of the earth. Luckily, I have nerds (lulz) for friends who are there to help me when in need. <3)
(I got delivered a purple Kickstart this week...Ha!)

After I got off work I had a nail appointment at a new place called "Adore." I have been looking for somewhere else to go for a while-- I was not happy with my current nail salon so I was happy when I found out "Adore" had dip powder! I LOVED it. They offered me complimentary drinks and they had the most comfortable chairs ever. They are a little bit more pricey but it was totally worth it. The people were so friendly! I highly recommend!

After my appointment, Tyler and I headed to my parents house for dinner. We had family in town from Georgia so I was excited to visit with them. After we ate dinner, we all sat around and told stories and laughed... A LOT. It was really nice catching up... I wish I could see them more often!

That brings us to today! Again, it was pretty busy at work but overall a good day. Tomorrow is FRIDAY and that makes everything better... Ya feel me? ;) Speaking of tomorrow, it is the grand opening of a new coffee joint in Fort Smith called 'Fort Smith Coffee Co.' I. AM. SO. EXCITED. I have been waiting for them to open for so long now. They have taken a super old, run-down building close to downtown and have totally remodeled it. From the pictures I've seen, it looks amazing! (It looks super cozy!) And you know what makes it even better? I'M FINALLY GOING TO GET MY LATTE ART. ;) (I have wanted to go somewhere and have a cup of coffee in an actual, REAL cup and see latte art sitting there staring back at me! Haha! It's the small things, y'all... Just love me!)

Anyways... (I clearly get way too excited about coffee, whoops!) I think that's all for today! I am about to either read some of my book or watch a movie! Decisions, decisions. ;) Here's to the weekend ahead!

Love always,

"Wake up early tomorrow. Eat a good breakfast. Do your hair and makeup and put on a cute outfit. Buy your cup of coffee and enjoy every sip of it. Go to work, make that money, and learn something new in the process. Nourish. Grow. Inspire. Self-destruction is not an option. And let every choice you make be a brick in the foundation of rebuilding yourself."

(Ok, so the Drake & Rihanna version of this song has been in my head the past couple of days. Unfortunately, I can't find the real version on Youtube! What!? However, I came across this cover of the song and it's actually really good! I always like listening to covers so I thought I would share it anyways!)

(This song came on my Pandora station and I forgot how much I love it! Him and Charlie Puth are going to be going on tour together soon and I am REALLY wanting to see them. I'm hoping they add more tour dates somewhere near Arkansas! Come on guys!!!)

Disney on Ice, Sister Time, Workouts & MORE

Hello lovelies!

Happy Monday to you all.

I woke up feeling really good this morning-- even though I had a minor curve ball thrown at me. Ha! (Y'all will roll your eyes at me when I tell you what it was...) My blow-dryer wouldn't work! AH! Now, most girls would probably just roll with the punches and go with their natural hair... But this girl can't do that! For real-- my hair looks like I stuck my hand in an electrical socket if I don't blow dry and straighten it. Thanks to my husband for rolling out of bed to save the day! ;)

Anyways, how about a weekend recap? Let's get started!

Saturday morning I woke up pretty early to start getting ready to head to Little Rock. I met my mum at her house and headed out around 9AM. Mom and I found the perfect country station on the way up-- it had a mixture of old and new country...We loved every minute of it! When we got to LR, we picked up my sister and her mother-n-law and headed to a super tasty Mexican restaurant called "Cilantros Grill." From the outside, it didn't look like it would be anything special but the inside was SUPER pretty. And the fact that it had amazing food was a plus too, of course! (I could kick myself in the foot for not getting any pictures of the inside-- the place had a huge brick fireplace! It was so nice!)

After lunch, my sister and I walked around to a few of the shops that were near by. Not only was I super happy to be hanging out with my sis but the weather was SO beautiful that day... I could have stayed outside forever! <3

After shopping, we loaded back up in the car and headed to the Verizon Arena to see 'Disney on Ice.' My sister has been wanting to go and see this show for a really long time so I'm glad we finally got to go. When we first got inside, we could smell the aroma of funnel cakes and cinnamon roasted almonds... so of course we made our way to get both! Ha!
(I totally forgot to get a picture of the funnel cake... I might have devoured it as soon as I got it! Heh.)

Y'all, we had amazing seats...
Love her so freaking much! (I also got to wear my new Express jeans... They were super comfortable!)

The show started out with 'Tory Story' and then moved on to 'The Little Mermaid', 'Cars', & finished up with 'Frozen'. I've always LOVED ice skating so I was in heaven. All the of spins and twirls... SO cool! I wasn't able to get many decent photos during the show... but here's a look at the soldiers from 'Toy Story.'
(Pretty cool, right?)

We left LR around 5:00 and headed back to Fort Smith! Although I had so much fun hanging out with my sissy, I was ready to get home and see the hubs. When I got home, Tyler and I decided to go out to dinner and hang out for a bit. The weather was PERFECT so we drove with the top down and headed to Grubs.

I'm not a huge fan of Grub's but we wanted to go somewhere that we could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather....

After we got done eating, we decided to drive the car downtown. There was some kind of motorcycle event going on so we just drove around and people watched! Ha! ;)

Sunday we woke up and went grocery shopping and hit the gym! I am 100% back on track with my health and fitness and I am feeling super motivated. Tyler and I both worked legs... I'll be honest, it wasn't a very good workout for either of us. We both did NOT want to be at the gym but we pushed through anyways.
(Pretty much did deadlifts the entire workout...whoops!)

The rest of the evening was pretty relaxed and chilled. We meal prepped and watched a few episodes of 'The Office.' SO FUNNY!

That brings us to today... Oh my! Today was busssssy. However, it was super productive. I got a ton of work done and have been SPOT ON with my macros:
(That's what I call satisfaction... Heh!)

Before heading to the gym after work, I came home and ate a quick salad as my pre-workout meal... It was SUPER tasty:

I did a quick shoulder and tricep workout and Tyler worked chest:
(Werk, werk, werk...)

Now, I am home and about to make burgers (sliders) for dinner! But before I sign off for the night, I wanted to share the book I'm currently reading:
(Obviously, I got sucked in by the cute title and super adorable cover... but it's actually a pretty good book so far!)

Anyways, I hope you all have a fantastic week! I have a feeling good things are going to happen! :)

Love always,

"So, what if, instead of thinking about solving your whole life, you just think about adding additional good things. One at a time. Just let your pile of good things grow."

(Old school but I heard this on the way to work this morning and I had forgotten how much I love it!)

(I am absolutely LOVING this song right now. Probably one of my favs playing on the radio. Dustin Lynch is perrrf.)

Happy Fri-YAY

Hello lovelies!

It's the weeeeeekend! Can I get a woot-woot!? ;)

Let's jump right in to this (probably extremely long & scattered) blog post... I hope you're ready!

This week has been extremely weird... It's gone by super fast but kind of slow at the same time. (Lulz) Anyways, first things first-- I am going to see BROTHER'S OSBORNE at the end of this month! *insert high pitched squeal* Y'all, I have wanted to see them for AGES and I just found out they are going to be in Tulsa. I didn't think twice about buying tickets! (And they were super cheap-- win-win!)

Last night, I started watching 'The Office'. A few people I work with FREAKED out yesterday when I told them I had never watched it before... Ha! So being the type of person I am who will usually give anything a shot once, I am now giving the show a chance! So far, it's actually been pretty hilarious!

I also made a really tasty meal BY MYSELF before sitting down to relax and watch my show:
(Just call me Paula Dean... ha! Riiiiiight. I kid, I kid.)

Oh! And speaking of yesterday at work... Have I mentioned I have some pretty great friends?: (See picture below...heh)
(I'm totally ok with them feeding my kickstart addiction! <3)

Moving on... Today was b-u-s-y at work for a Friday... Well, the first part of the day was anyway! But not for the reasons you would think! Not only did we have a massive Cinco de Mayo cookout but we also had a lot of different activities going on around the building. For those who signed up to participate, we all had the opportunity to either build a bike or decorate a bag for a foster child in need. It was a really cool experience and I'm glad I got to help out! Even though I am not artistic AT ALL, I did my best and decorated one of the bags while jamming out to some music! (My boss asked for me to bring a bluetooth speaker so we could have some tuneeees so you know that made this girl happy!)

My friend Kayla and I got to work together for the same little girl. She built the bike and I decorated the bag. (Props to Kayla for building that bike all by herself... Impressive!)
(Here's a closer view of my bag... lulz! I TRIED....OK, Y'ALL!? =P)

After all the craziness was done, one of the managers in my department made his AMAZING homemade apple cobbler. I might have had a small bowl... ;)

My friend at work also introduced me to the "wikipedia game" today. #canwesaynerdy? But seriously, it was surprisingly a lot of fun! Haha! (P.S. This is what happens when it's super slow on a Friday in the afternoon time) The point of the game is you pick a topic-- in this case I chose "Louis Vuitton" (obviously) for him and I to start with. You start on a random wikipedia page and then you have to try to get to the wikipedia page of the topic you chose in 10 clicks or less. (The challenge is you can only click on a word if it's a blue link and takes you to another page) Let's just say this... I SUCKED. However, HE GOT IT-- He got to the Louis Vuitton wikipedia page in 9 clicks! LOL! I couldn't believe it... I was already on my 10th click and I was just getting to the "France" page! SMH.
(Also, he did come by my desk and SLAM his sticky note while saying "BOOM!" to prove he did it...  *eye roll*)

Anyways, right now Tyler and I just got home from dinner at Beef O Brady's and I have "La La Land" playing in the background. We had a free redbox rental and nothing else really looked good so I thought I would watch this again. (That's how much I loved it!)

Tomorrow I'm headed to Little Rock to see my SISSY! <3 We have tickets to go see 'Disney on Ice' so that should be fun! I hope you all are having a fantastic day and have a fabulous weekend!

Love always,

"Let it all go. See what stays."

And now because we all know it's me here... Here's some Brother's Osborne music in honor of getting to see them live in a couple weeks: (Just love me!) ;)

He's Never Left

Hello lovelies!

Today I want to do a very special blog post. I'm dedicating this post to the one constant in my life: My husband.

If I'm being 100% honest, marriage is hard. Especially when you live with someone like me. I am selfish, dramatic and get upset over the small things.

Yet, he's never left. He's still here.

When I've broken his heart and made him wonder if I love him at all...

He never left. He's still here.

When I have put other friendships and relationships before him...

He never left. He's still here.

We are two totally different people. For so long, I've seen this as a bad thing. I've tried pushing him away, all the while blaming him for not "understanding" me. I thought because we didn't have the same interests and desires in life, that we couldn't/wouldn't make it. I doubted us as a couple and I doubted him as man-- as my husband.

What I've realized here lately is that he has shown me more love than probably anyone else in my life--ever. He has shown forgiveness when I didn't deserve it, patience when I was at my worst, but most of all-- love. He has shown me that no matter what circumstances come our way, he will always love me. He will never give up on me-- and trust me, there have been plenty of times when he should have.

I've always pictured marriage as this big fairytale. I was incorrect. Life is not a fairytale. Life is hard. Sometimes life kicks you and beats you down so hard that it feels like you can't get your head above water. My husband may not be perfect-- and we may not have the PERFECT marriage (no one really does), but I do know that I have someone I can count on. Forever. And that means more to me than anything.

I love you Tyler Wade Smith! I'm sorry for being the selfish person I've been! You mean the world to me and I am going to love you with everything inside of me for the rest of our lives, no matter what! <3

Love always,

"Love is not 'if' or 'because'. Love is 'anyway' and 'even though' and 'in spite of'."
