Goodbye July...

Hello lovelies!

I guess you can say it's been a "hot minute" since I last blogged... 7 days to be exact! If I'm honest, today I had made up my mind I was going to stop the whole "blog life" thing and shut her down. I was telling my friend at work that I just felt like it was a waste of time and pointless. (I tend to discourage myself when I think something isn't perfect or up to everyone else's standards) He encouraged me not to give it up if it was something I truly enjoy... and I think he was right. Sometimes you just need someone in your life to give you a little push... I'm thankful for those people!

Since it's the end of the month, I thought this would be the perfect time to list the things that made me happy this month!

5 Things That Made Me Happy This Month
  1. We finally booked our cabin for Christmas! I'm so excited... My family has wanted to do this forever and I can't believe it's actually going to happen this year. My mom and I have been planning out the entire trip... (Christmas lights at Silver Dollar City, Christmas Eve dinner and gifts, etc.)
  2. I watched my first Christmas movie of the year AND made an epic Christmas playlist! (Can anyone tell I'm READY for the holidays? Hehe)
  3. The John Mayer Facebook Live Concert! Shout out to my friend Jan... She is probably one of my only friends that would EVER sit there and watch an entire JM live concert and chat about it through IM with me. That's a true friend, folks! ;)
  4. I'm down 6 pounds this month... and I'm feeling great! I have really been enjoying my workouts and I have so much more energy.
  5. MY FRIENDS. Y'all, I just have to take a minute and say how thankful I am for my friends. (Especially this month!) Thankful for the friends who have never left my side... thankful for all the encouragement when I'm at my lowest... Thankful for the one's who make me laugh when I'm about to burst in to tears... Thankful for the daily conversations that can be totally serious, yet turn in to the most random and ridiculous of stories. It's crazy how much life can change over time but your true friends remain constant.
Before I sign off, I thought I'd share a funny little story that happened to me the other day. After a long day at work, I headed to get a much needed pedicure. The guy turns on the water and turns on the jet as I sit down... ready to relax. HA! Right! Before I know it, the water is shooting directly towards me, out of nowhere! Apparently, he had turned the jet the wrong way and water came pouring out!! Omgsh, I couldn't get out of the chair fast enough... I had a diet coke in my hand, my Louis Vuitton in my lap and the chair arm locking me in. By the time I finally got out of the way, I was SOAKED. LOL Let's just say, it made for a very entertaining show to everyone that was sitting there watching it all go down! (The life of Charity Smith...Smh.)

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Love always,

A Little Recap & Life Decisions

Hello lovelies and Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was filled with a lot of good moments and that's exactly what I needed after this past week. Let's see, where did I leave off from my last post? We'll start with Thursday! It wasn't too bad of a work day... Some of us got to wear jeans if we bought a T-shirt from Avery, one of our COE's that is going to Thailand in a couple of days! It was her last day with us and it was sad to see her go! She's a super sweet girl and I wish her the best! <3
(Shout out to Lexie too! I'm going to be sad once she leaves as well... but I still have her for one more week!)

Friday wasn't my day... I won't get in to details but yeah... BLAH! haha Tyler wound up not going to the gym and came home to take me to dinner. We headed to Beef O Brady's and then went grocery shopping.

Saturday morning, I met my sister to get our eyebrows sugared... I was so excited to spend some time with her this weekend! I feel like I haven't seen her in forever. After we got done with our eyebrows, I met Tyler and my brother-n-law back at the house and we went swimming at our neighbors pool. The water felt so amazing but I wound up getting a sunburn. Boooooo.

Later that evening, my sister and I went to Fort Smith Coffee Co. and had some girl talk!
When we were done with our coffee, we headed to Target and did a little shopping as well. We both love strolling the isles of Target so we had a blast looking at all the different stuff. <3 Speaking of, look at these ADORABLE coffee mugs I found... Remember how I said I was a sucker for cute cups? Whoops! Ha!
Tyler and I went to church with the family on Sunday and then ate at Bricktown Brewery afterwards. That place is SO inconsistent... It's so annoying! The avocado on my salad was completely rotten. I sent it back and when she brought me another one, it was rotten as well. -_- #ifinallygaveup

Tyler and I went out for frozen yogurt later that night and then watched 'Food Network Start' and 'Beat Bobby Flay'. That's kind of become our Sunday night tradition!

Before I sign off, I wanted to see if I could get any feedback on a particular subject. I am seriously thinking about going back to college to finish my bachelors degree. I already have my associates degree so I don't think it would take me TOO terribly long. However, I want to do all of my classes online only.  Does anyone know of a good college that offers great online courses? I obviously work full time so I would need something super flexible but it's something I'm really interested in getting done. I want to make bigger moves in my career and I feel like this is the only way to do so! Any info or suggestions would be helpful! :)

I hope you all have a great week!

Love always,

Oops I Did It Again...

Hello lovelies!

Today should be a "Weight-Loss Wednesday" post... buuuuut I've honestly been so busy I haven't had the time to put together what I was wanting to do for this week's post. #fail I honestly think I may start doing Weight-Loss Wednesday posts every other week so I can really put more focus and effort in to them. Who knows, we shall see... ;)

Anyways, I wanted to get something up today so I thought I'd hop on here real fast and type whatever I was feeling. I finally started the LAST season of Gilmore Girls... It's just a mixture of emotions with this show right now... haha Things I'm wanting to happen are happening but then again, things I'm NOT wanting to happen are also happening. All I gotta say is there better be some happy endings at the finale of this show or I'm going to be heartbroken. *so dramatic, I know*

I started listening to Christmas music today, which led me to think about the holidays, which led me to Pinterest. Now I am in the baking mood, wanting to decorate my Christmas tree and have a holiday party! LOL. I get way too excited about these things y'all!

In other news, we leave for vacation in a few weeks and I CANNOT wait. I'm so ready to take some time off and just relax. We have a few things planned but the majority of the time is going to be spent in the pool or hot tub, enjoying the gorgeous mountain views.

Before I go, I thought I'd share one of Brett Eldredge's new songs. I am PATIENTLY waiting for his new album to be released but until then, I'll take what I can get. This song is kind of sad but it's super pretty and I love it. If the rest of the new album is as good as this song, I know it's going to be a great one! Enjoy!
(Oh, and this video was taken at The Ryman Auditorium where we went for the Grand Ole Opry when we were in Nashville this past January! Kind of cool... I'm really wanting to go back soon!)

Love always,

FYI: Question Answered

Happy Monday lovelies!

I just wanted to get on here and answer a question I've been getting pretty frequently about my blog. Unfortunately right now, if you try and access my blog on your cell phone, my blog isn't fitting the screen unless you turn your phone sideways. I'm still trying to get this fixed but I'm going to be honest, your girl isn't very tech savvy. Ha! Anyways, for now (until I get it fixed), if you want to read the blog on your mobile device... Just turn your phone sideways and it should work perfectly fine. ;)

Have a fantastic day!

Love always,

Saturdaaaze & Summer Rays

Hello lovelies!

Two blog posts in two days? Heck yes! I've had such a lovely weekend so far, I thought I'd hop on here and blog about it... ;) Last night Tyler and I went to the gym and then came home and I cooked dinner. I made some super yummy potatoes to go with our pork tenderloin and then we headed to Braum's for a little late night snack. (It fit in our macros since we ate in for dinner...woooo!)
(I seasoned the potatoes with oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and paprika)

This morning, we both woke up super early so we decided to get in an early workout before we started the day.
(LOL, I totally got a picture of Tyler flexing...Smh)

Once we got done working out, we headed to Fort Smith Coffee Co. and got a quick breakfast. I had a vanilla latte with a piece of guacamole toast and a piece of honey butter toast. It was soooo yummy! I definitely recommend getting it one day if you haven't already!

Next we headed to Walmart to get some grocery shopping done... Let me show you what I found:
(Oh my gosh, y'all! I am such a sucker for cute cups and I literally got so happy when I found these at Walmart for 98 cents. Haha!)

When we got home, we headed to our neighbors pool for a swim! It was SO hot outside and the water felt amazing!

As for tonight, my dad came over and we watched the Lego Batman Movie and ate pizza! This was my first cheat meal ALL week and it was so good! Ha! Tyler and I are now watching the second Divergent movie... it's good so far!

I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday tomorrow!

Love always,

Here's To A Happy Weekend...

Hello lovelies and Happy Friday!

This week hasn't been too bad... I think it's finally starting to slow down a bit at work and I think it's safe to say everyone is definitely not complaining about it. On Wednesday, our main boss decided she wanted to give us all a small break since things have been so crazy the last few weeks. We divided up in groups and spent 30 minutes playing games! Haha! It may sound childish, but it was actually pretty nice not having to think about anything work related for those 30 minutes and just have fun with my peers.
(These pictures are kind of blurry but I wanted to post the collage anyways! This was one of the games we played... The team who could build the tallest cup tower in a certain amount of time without it falling won the game! Ha!)

My parents have been out of town for almost two weeks. They went to Georgia and then headed to the beach. They face-timed me from the beach every night they were there and I was super jealous! However, don't get me wrong, I love summer but I actually cannot contain my excitement for fall. Am I the only one? I am SO ready for sweaters, booties, wool hats and of course COLLEGE FOOTBALL. I've literally been pinning fall outfit inspiration and it can't come fast enough!

This week has also been filled with (mostly) good workouts! I feel so much better now that I'm back in the groove of things. It's amazing how much better you feel when you workout consistently. I'm really excited, Tyler and I plan to go to the Arkansas Body Building Competition (I don't know the official name of the competition, but you get it!) next month.. We know quite a few people from our gym who will be competing.

Anyways, I just wanted to hop on here before I headed to the gym for tonight's workout. I have a pork tenderloin in the crock-pot and I'm going to make some roasted potatoes to go with it for dinner tonight! <3

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Love always,

Weight-Loss Wednesday [Week 2]: How To Stay Motivated

Hello lovelies!

It's time for another Weight-Loss Wednesday post and today I'm going to talk about staying motivated. We've ALL had days where we feel super unmotivated whether it comes to our health and fitness or just life in general. There are times where you may just want to stay in your own little shell and not socialize with anyone in the world. Well, I'm here to tell you... That is OKAY. However, don't stay there.

This past weekend, I literally spent HOURS sitting in my favorite chair, watching Gilmore Girls. (It's a guilty pleasure! Ha!) Anyways, as much as I feel like sometimes you need to do that for yourself, I also find that I begin I feel very unmotivated.

Like I said in one of my last posts, Tyler started another cut this week so I am following his lead and really trying to stay on track with my macros and exercise. So far this week, I have been spot on with my macros and I'm really proud of myself. I wanted to give a couple of tips on some things that may help to keep you motivated... whether you're just beginning your fitness journey or if you just need that extra push.
  1. Buy new workout shoes or a new workout outfit: Now, I know some people may find this to be kind of silly but it really works! Ha! Anytime I go and purchase a new pair of tennis shoes or a couple cute new workout tops, I always feel motivated to head to the gym. I don't know what it is... but something about feeling "cute" when I go workout tends to help me!
  2. Take a pre-workout: This is HUGE! I have never been one to take a pre-workout before heading to the gym but oh. em. gee. I can't explain how much of a difference it makes. I found I was super hyped to be at the gym and not feeling super "sluggish" like usual.
  3. Find a friend or fitness community to join: It's been so inspiring getting to be in a private Facebook group with a bunch of girls from all around the world...working towards the same common goal. Also, I have some really great, supportive friends that always give me words of encouragement when I need them.
  4. Take it one day at a time: I know this sounds super cliche... but it's true! I tend to not focus on the bigger picture and try to set small victories at a time.
  5. Take progress pictures: This tip is SO important! I know some people tend to focus on the number that shows up on the scale... but STOP. Seriously, take progress pictures and go by them instead. Muscle weighs more than fat so the scale may not always go down as fast as you think. However, pictures won't lie. :)
If you have any other motivational tips, please leave a comment below! I'm always looking for ways to stay on track. I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Love always,

Weekend Recap: Date Night & Donuts Galore

Hello lovelies!

This has been a lovely weekend and I thought I'd share a quick recap with you all! Friday at work was actually really good. My friend knew that playing Super Mario is on my 30 before 30 bucket list so he "stole" his kids Nintendo DS and brought it to work so I could play while we were on our lunch break. Ha! I was actually pretty decent (once I got warmed up to the controllers) and I think he was surprised too! I'm seriously thinking about buying one for myself!

After Tyler and I got off work on Friday, we had 6:00 reservations to eat at Rolando's. It was kind of funny, we both came home to change clothes before we headed to eat and when we came out and saw each other, we were both wearing a black v-neck shirt with light distressed denim jeans! LOL Soooooo, I had to go change again before we left. Smh.

I ordered their amazing guacamole and had chicken and cheese quesadillas for my main dinner. I'm so #plain. ;)

Once we were done eating, we decided to go and get some donuts. Tyler is starting another cut this Monday so he's trying to get this "sweet treat fix" before then. He's also decided he's on the hunt for Fort Smith's best donut. *eye roll*

After we got done getting the donuts, we came home and I watched a few episodes of Gilmore Girls. Saturday morning, I had a hair appointment at 9AM. It was storming outside and I REALLY didn't want to get out of bed. I finally made myself get ready and stopped by Sweetbay on the way to get me and my hair girl a spiced chai. Once the hair appointment was over, Tyler and I went to the Gyro restaurant and had lunch before heading to ANOTHER donut shop. Lol! We wound up getting TEN different things there. (Donuts, muffins, fried pies, etc.)

Later that evening, we met up with our friend Chase to eat at Tassanee's. I got my usual-- pineapple fried rice and it was delicious!

As far as today goes, we went and got MORE donuts (I swear, it's a problem y'all!) and now I am home, getting ready to meal prep for the week. I'm thinking about doing a 3 day juice/smoothie cleanse at some point. #toomanydonuts

Here's to another great week ahead! <3

Bad Moods

Hello lovelies!

You can probably tell by my title that I'm not in the greatest mood of all time! Ha! It's honestly been a really hard week... I haven't felt the greatest (been kind of sick) and work has been a pain! I totally failed at posting my "Weight-Loss Wednesday" post yesterday and I just feel-- blah. (That's the only word that comes to mind!)

However, I wanted to hop on here and at least put some positive energy out there! So let's see what happy/random things come to mind... ;) Today, I got to see one of my good friends (that moved out of my building at work) so that made me really happy! It sucks when you don't get to see those people that you're used to seeing all the time.

Oh! I also made a purchase from Gameday Couture and got two of the cutest Alabama shirts for football season coming up in a couple of months.
I got this one and this (but in Alabama, of course! I must have bought the last one because it's no longer on the website) one... They are so adorable! I'm also thinking about buying this one as well... They are having a pretty good sale right now because they are about to launch their new fall collection! I can't wait! Go check it out! :)

Hmmm, what else? Oh, I know! I am flying through these seasons of Gilmore Girls. I seriously love this show! I know I am totally late at hopping on the GG train, but it is so good! For those of you who watch... Right now, I am totally a JESS fan! I don't know if I will wind up hating him at some point but even with his flaws, I still want him and Rory together! Ahhh! ;)

Before I end this post, I wanted to share an artist that I've been LOVING. I've shared one of his songs  on a previous post before but I highly recommend checking out his EP. It's only 4 songs but you will enjoy it, I promise! I literally will turn this on repeat while I'm at work and listen to it all day... He's super underrated and I hope he makes a full album one day soon!

Alright, I think that's going to be all for now! I'm hoping to have a really good weekend, take lots of pictures and have a really good recap post to put up on Sunday night! I hope you all have a fantastic Friday tomorrow! <3

A Lovely Weekend: Birthday Celebrations, Coffee + Relaxation

Hello lovelies!

This has been such a good weekend... I can't believe it's almost time for another work week! However, I'm ready for it... I'll be off on Tuesday for the 4th of July and that means a short work week! Before I head to church, I thought I'd post a quick recap from this weekend.

Like I said in my last post, we went to dinner on Friday night for Tyler's birthday. We wound up going to eat at Bricktown Brewery and it was SO GOOD. On the way there, while I was sitting at a stop light, my friend Kayla pulled up next to me and told me they had a great salad at Bricktown so I thought I would give it a try. Let me tell you, it was one of the best salads ever. I'm not a huge salad person but I will definitely order this one again.
(I do I have to say, I did ask for baby spinach instead of the regular iceberg lettuce that comes in the salad AND I asked for feta cheese instead of blue cheese crumbles.)

After dinner, we came home and relaxed the rest of the evening. I watched a few episodes of Gilmore Girls and went to bed. The next morning (Tyler's actual birthday), we woke up and headed downtown Fort Smith to the local Farmer's Market. I wanted to take some pictures while we were there but it was SO crowded. I don't think I've ever seen that many people there at one time! Ha!
(We rode with the top down all day... It's our favorite!)

Once we left the Farmer's Market, we headed to one of my favorite local coffee shops-- Fort Smith Coffee Co. <3 We ordered lemon blueberry muffins and I got a vanilla latte. YUM!

That night my mom cooked Tyler's favorite meal... Lasagna and Oreo Trifle! It was super delicious but very, VERY fattening! Ha!

Anyways, we are about to head to church... I hope you all have a great Monday tomorrow!

Love always,
