Massive Weekly Recap + Life Update

Hello lovelies! & Happy Thursday to you all!

I am SO very happy to be getting a blog post up for you guys... Thanks for being patient with me these past couple of weeks. (For real though-- thank you to my faithful readers! It blows my mind when I check my "stats" and see I actually have activity on my blog almost every single day! Absolutely crazy! *major hugs*)

Anyways, I wanted to get on here and do a recap of this week so far (up until today) and do a little "life update" if that's what you would like to call it. Ha! I was going to wait and post an even bigger recap on Monday but I feel like I have so much to say in this post, I don't want to overwhelm you all. My sister is also coming to town tonight and we're going to be doing some fun things this weekend so I will have plenty to talk about next Monday! Let's hop right in...

Monday was a pretty busy day at work... The phones rang like crazy but I didn't mind! I've said it once but I'll say it again, it makes the day go by so much faster. When I got off work, I headed straight to the gym for a lifting session. #legday The past two months I have SERIOUSLY been slacking on my workouts. Some weeks I was lucky if I got one workout in--but no more! I've really been prioritizing things in my life lately and my health and fitness is definitely at the top of the list. I have set a goal to make it to the gym AT LEAST three times a week. I'm taking it one week at a time and I'm proud to say that I've stuck with that goal so far this week. ;)
After my gym sesh, Tyler and I rode with the top down and headed to my parents house for dinner. It was such a beautiful night so I tried to take some pictures on the way... Teehee There's just something about driving on old back roads, listening to country music as the wind blows through your hair. <3

Side note: Tyler is teaching me how to drive a stick shift! I'm actually getting the hang of it rather well! WOO!
We finally made it to my parents house and let me just say this... My momma CAN. COOK. *hands in the air* She tends to cook for us more than she probably should... but we sure do appreciate it! We had grilled tenders, roasted potatoes, stewed okra and green beans. It was so tasty!

I also finally got around to deleting ALL the pictures I had on my iPhone! Ha! My friend at work helped me get a backup program set up and I got straight to deleting. I've felt super uninspired to write blog posts here lately... I always found myself going to my photo album (that had THREE THOUSAND pictures in it) and it just brought me down for some reason. It was full of junk, duplicates and it was just too much to look at. I wanted a completely fresh start so that's exactly what I did! It's amazing what a little decluttering can do for you. I'm feeling more inspired than ever! ;)

Anyways, Tuesday's weather was PERFECTION! It was the first day it's actually felt like fall. We've had "cooler" days here and there but the weather was a crisp kind of cool and it made me so very happy! Tyler hit the gym that morning before work so we were both able to come home right after we got off and it was reallllly nice! Since it was already a gloomy day, it got dark super fast. I lit some yummy smelling candles and turned on a Hallmark movie to watch, while Tyler played a game on his PC. #bliss
Oh, and I tried a gluten free pizza for dinner! I'm trying to cut out as much gluten as possible... (More on that later) It was just... okaay.

Wednesday was work and church. I woke up with a sore throat and in major need of coffee. Well, let's be honest... when do I NOT have a major need for coffee? Ha! We also had the most amazing lemon raspberry cake delivered to our work today as well. SO GOOD.
Did I mention the weather was beautiful?

Today we had a jean day at work, even though technically I have been able to wear jeans every day this week already! Woo! (When you get an upsale in my department, you get to wear jeans the next day!) Anyways, today we all got to wear jeans and the color pink for breast cancer awareness.

After work today, I came home and started working on this blog post. I haven't felt very good today for some reason. I woke up with a sore throat again and my stomach has been cramp-ish.

As far as other updates (before I sign off), like I said in my last post, I've really been trying to stay off social media as much as possible and BE PRESENT. I didn't realize how much time I spent on there until I really started to pay attention. Now, I delete my apps from my phone for most of the day and then I will reload them later in the evening if I want to hop on Facebook for a few minutes. This has really helped me get out of the habit of clicking on there 50,000 times a day!

We've also started to get really involved in our church. I finally joined the choir and we attended our first "Connect Group" last weekend. About 50 of us met up at a couple's house (I just so happen to work with the guy, so that was kind of cool) and we sat outside, chatted and had a bonfire. We roasted hotdogs and made S'mores! We had a really great time!

Well, I think that's going to be all for today! I'm so excited to get back in the groove of blogging more consistently. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Love always,
Charity
